Basil Essential Oil

There is simply no mistaking the aroma of fresh-plucked basil. This is because the linalool in the oil helps it give off that distinct, sweet aroma, which – while attracting humans – is perfect for repelling insects of all kinds. If you've already been stung or bitten, however, basil oil also has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the itching and redness.

Despite having shown efficacy as an expectorant and antibacterial agent, basil has also proved useful in treating various pulmonary issues, including infections. Moreover, a particular element of its elemental bouquet, known as eugenol, is incredibly effective against rheumatoid arthritis and muscle pain.
